Title: Sherman Hoyt Trophy Summary

Sunday, October 23

A much nicer day with lots of sun and a cool westerly breeze that once again increased throughout the day. The breeze started out at around 12-15 knots and built upwards of 20-25 knots in the puffs. The entire fleet handled the conditions well with only a few capsizes throughout the day in Brown's fleet of Z420s. Courses were W3, W4, and W5's. No protests or breakdowns today and a huge thanks to our judges: Peter Bailey (Brown '15), Lydia Whiteford (Brown '15), and Nathan Allman (Brown '16). Thanks to everyone that helped out: James Barry (Brown '16), Reid Secondo (Brown '16), Sophie Hibben '19 (scoring), Sawyer Balint '20, Gabe Hannon '20, Ian Light '20, Rachel Foster '20, Megs Malpani '19, and Burke O'Brien '19. A huge thanks to Doug Clark from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy for being the NEISA Rep and for bringing some extra booms that we needed today due to some vang problems. We would also like to thank the Edgewood Sailing School for using a few of their powerboats. And finally, a special thanks to photographer Rob Migliaccio for taking his always incredible pics and continuing to support college sailing. A huge congrats to the Dartmouth Big Green on winning both divisions and the 2016 Sherman Hoyt Trophy over the host Brown Bears.
