Title: Dellenbaugh Women's Trophy Summary

Saturday, April 1

A cold, very wet, windy, and miserable day for sailing at the Dellenbaugh Women's Trophy, hosted by Brown University at the Edgewood Yacht Club. Despite the weather, we were able to get in 4 races in A-division and 2 in B-division. There was a heavy rain and wintry mix to go along with a building North/Northeast wind of 15-25 knots with a few higher puffs. Once the higher puffs became more stable, racing was cancelled for the day at around 2pm. All races were W4's with many capsizes, blown out jib windows, and some minor repairs needed throughout the day.

Many thanks to the Brown Sailors who had to act as Navy Seal divers and rescue and even sail in some boats: Gabe Hannon '20 and Burke O'Brien '19. They spent a lot of time in the water today with many of the sailors. Thanks to Hannah Steadman '20 for scoring and to judges Elizabeth Barry '11 and Emily Barry '12 for braving the elements. Thanks to Dartmouth Coach Justin Assad for being the ICSA Representative and even coming out on the water for a bit to see how great it was. A huge thanks as well to photographer Rob Migliaccio for being out there to take lots of great photos today that will soon be posted on the NEISA Facebook Page.

Tomorrow looks like a much improved day weather wise, 10am first race for Race 3B. The Brown Bears loved the conditions today and hold a nice lead after day one. They wish we were still out there sailing.
