Saturday, March 31A spectacular first day of racing on the first day of the 2018 Dellenbaugh Women's Trophy. The day started with lots of sunshine, temps approaching 60 degrees, and a dying Northerly breeze. One A-division race was completed and the first B-division race was abandoned as the breeze died. Competitor's waited ashore for about an hour and half until the seabreeze filled in at around 1:30pm from the South/Southwest at 12-18 knots with nice waves. A-division sailed 10 races in Z420s and B-division sailed 8 races in FJs until 6pm. All courses were W4's and two requests for redress were filed with one breakdown awarded to Yale's B-division. A huge thanks to the our Judges Johanna Kincaid (Brown '15) and Megan Grapengeter-Rudnick (Brown '17) and to all of the Brown sailors who helped out: Gabe Hannon '20, Jack Briano '21, and Ary Dutta '21. Thanks as well to Dartmouth Coach Justin Assad for being the NEISA Rep and to URI for providing their starting box. And a huge thanks to photographer Rob Migliaccio for taking photos all day that will be up on the NEISA Facebook page. The hometown Brown Bears are leading the way after day one. Race 9B will begin at 10:00am on Sunday with B-division in Z420s and A-division in FJs. Top 5Visit http://scores.collegesailing.org/s18/dellenbaugh-women/ for full results.
