I thought I'd throw in my 2c worth: I view my email in a fairly large
window, partly so that i won't have to do a lot of scrolling. If all I see
in the window is quoted text, I just delete it without even scrolling down
to see the reply. I suppose I'm getting old and curmudgeonly, but it seems
to me that people who don't have enough sense to edit the quotes seldom say
anything useful for me to read. I don't have the time to waste on these
types of messages cuz I am subscribed to about 9 different Mac discussion
lists...1 for each model of Mac that I commonly use, plus a few special
interest lists. This means there are a couple hundred email messages for me
to sort thru every day, so I have to save time where I can.
