I certainly do NOT want to stifle or insult anyone, but as another
poster wrote, I have SEVERAL lists that I subscribe to, and have to get
through to stay current. God forbid I go out of town for a couple of
days! I come back to a hundred posts!
Making an honest mistake is not the issue. And no one has ever stated
that certain people are mistake free. The issue is that some people
NEVER take the time to edit their posts, and therefore continue to have
this issue.
Yes. Dan does an awesome job with these lists. I'm on several of his
lists, as well as a few others. If "Mom/Grandma" has been observing as
long as she says, then she must know that this is an issue that raises
it's head all the time. It was posted "publicly" to help educate those
very new users she was mentioning. It was also sent directly to the
poster in case he missed it in the list, to help educate him as well.
But, it was not meant to degrade or belittle the person, which was
stated at the beginning of my original post. "Mom/Grandma," by the way,
was not who I was mentioning in my original post as an example.
All in all, I apologize if someone's feelings got hurt. It was not my
intention. After rereading my original post, I don't see where I made
any personal attacks. I also apologize for some frustration coming
through in my original post.
By all means, gather the courage anytime you need and post with whatever
you feel necessary to the list. My post only tried to serve as a
reminder to how frustrating it is to go through sooo many posts only to
have to filter through extra, unneeded information. In trying to educate
said newbies to the list, I've obviously hurt some people's feelings. I
humbly send my regrets.
Dan, I very politely NEVER meant to do your job, or step on your toes.
Although, I doubt you took it as such either, even some might have taken
it upon themselves to see it that way.
Peace.
