I have both a mac and a PC and I had cooling problems with my PC and took the cover
off which seemed to take care of the problem for a while. But you have an almost
invisible enemy to deal with... DUST!!! At one point, my computer was overheating with
the covers off and a fan blowing on it. The fins got filled with DUST and the cpu
could not dissapate heat. The fan also got filled with dust. So I would reccomend
against having the covers off.
