Am switching from inkjet printers to laser and I need advice. eBay
has bunches, but I'm interested in sticking with Apple unless someone
has a compelling reason to switch, even though Apple doesn't make
printers anymore (I'm not sure about support). My computer is
equipped in the chooser for LW 8 and LW 300/ls, neither of which I
know anything about except that there are no LW8's listed in eBay.
I know the pro's and con's of Laser vs Inkjet, but for these
particular models, do either have any major drawbacks I should know
about? Are some of the other Apple laserwriters listed in eBay better
buys for the buck? I'm after printing speed and reduced toner refill
cost, and quality is important, but I'm not trying to sell the
finished products, so it doesn't have to be an gazillion DPI
capability. Also, I don't want to spend very much money (free is
GOOD!).
Basically, I'm fishing in the dark here, so please feel free to
patronize and/or condescend.
FWIW, I have a Mac 7300 upgraded to G3/400 with 248MB RAM, 2GB HD.
TIA, Fred
PS - After 3 months in the wilds of Labrador, I'm happy to be back!
