I just gave a teen in foster care my favorite set up: ppc 7300, Apple 17"
monitor, OS 8.6, Personal LaserWriter 300. I prefer the humongous
Laserwriter IInt, and etc. but kids in foster care rarely have the room for
the beasties. The best thing about the Personal LaserWriter 300 is it makes
no noise when it is not printing. No fan, no flashing lights. Silence. It is
not fast at printing but the quality is great and I have often got the laser
ink carts at Goodwill for $5.00 a pop for new in the box. The printer itself
I have seen priced at $2.00 and $15.00.
2 cents for ya. (by the way, LW 8 is the utility, not a printer)
