The very ease of access made the 7200, 7500, and 7600 inviting targets
for RAM theft, especially in computer labs. Apple slightly modified the
cover on the 7300 and included a plastic piece that could go over those
two tabs ("the little catch-releasie-thingies") and prevent anyone
without a screwdriver from stealing RAM. Outside of computer labs, most
people never used them.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build
bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to
produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.
