Hello Bolca,
I am using a FireWireDirect FireWire/USB PCI Card in my 8500/180
[originally 120] and it fits in just fine. I bought it at
FireWireDirect.com online. I couldn't get my card into the first slot
so I used the second. It didn't matter.
> I purchased a 8500-150 Mac, upgraded it with the XLR8 processor put some
> more ram in it, and it zips along lovely.
> The 8500 has 3 slots for pci cards. I got a multi usb port pci card
> which the man said would fit all macs, even the 8500.
> But it doesn", the smaller end of the metal strip is too big, and does
> not allow the card to be properly installed.
> I can return the card, but which card fits into one of those 3 slots,
> the 8500 has, and which slot should I use,or doesn't it matter.
> Thanks for your help, perhaps directing me to a discount firm selling
> Mac's stuff?
