What Mac are you using it in? There was a thread not too long ago about 4-port USB cards not working in PCI Macs. Has that issue been resolved? I too am looking for a USB card with at least 4 ports, though it'd be for a Yosemite and a Sawtooth. Haven't found the SIIG in my neighborhood, though the 6-port Adaptec 5100 (5 ext., 1 int.) isn't priced too bad at $50; it's USB 2, though also 1.1 compatible.
