As far as I know, SCSU hds don't have a Master and Slave designation, just
SCSI IDs. You're probably thinking of IDE/ATA drives.

All I can suggest is to really double check your termination settings (make
sure on is on and off is off, I've been fooled a couple times by
badly-marking switches/jumpers) and test your cables. I'm unfortunately not
too familiar with SCSI beyond basics (one or two devices, etc)
