Interleaving only applies to PCI PowerMacs that have 60x series CPUs and
168-pin 5v DIMM memory (the expensive stuff). Interleaving supposedly
makes the machine run faster because it allows the memory controller to
act pre-emptively so it is ready to send the next instruction quicker
(so I'm told - don't ask who told me - I think I guessed!).

G3s do not support interleaved RAM, so it don't matter. For The G3/4
machines (not upgraded PCI 60x machines) I usually fill them 1 first
etc...

Try not to mention G3/4 machines on here as it is not on-topic and some
people get a bit shirty about it :).
