Are you wanting to systematically climb back up to at least 7.6.1?

Why do you want to remove OS 8.5 or is is that you
really need to wipe the hard drive?

If you mount your 7.5 CD - shut your computer down -
startup while holding down the 'c" key for a longish time
till you see the screen with the smiling face
as computer boots from the system on your CD.

Eventually you get to the system installer program.
One of the appearing big check buttons will bring up the
Hard Drive Setup utility where you can initialize;
following which you can do the Easy install.

Maybe once initialized or "erased" you may have to go through that
boot-up process again to install 7.5 ?

I've never actually wiped a hard drive so you seasoned vets
can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I went from 7.6.1 in one step to 8.6 last night so that much I know -
and I'm having a ball with this 9500:-)
