OK, I have it connected with only the power plug. by picking it up and shaking (gently but convincingly), I did get it to spin up! Sounds like a dentist drill.
However, it won't start up again once it's been powered off. Just makes a slight rattling noise, a tiny amount of whirring. Seems not good. --Anna Hello, Tyler Smith Punky!
