Hey RedRock, I have an SL-J2 and a 6500A/V. I have been transferring vinyl to CD using a Philips CDR-775. It's a home-audio CD burner/duplicator. It won't burn data CDs, and you have to use Audio CDs in it. I have been able to play them in the 6500 (8.6) using Apple CD Audio Player and on the iMac (9.2.2) with iTunes and CD Audio Player. I can also use the tracks as background music in other programs.
If you find out a way to transfer vinyl directly into the 6500 without actually burning a CD, I'd sure like to know. Sometimes I only want one tune off a whole album and that sorta "wastes" a blank CD (and the audio-only CDs are more expensive than the data CDs). Thanks.
