Hi Jim, SoundJam MP sounds like the cats meow! I've been savouring this thread as I have 50 of my own songs on tape and finally have a 9500. My objective is to be able to "upload" songs to my own page at Songscope where I can build a catalogue and where producers and Publishers go looking for songs. Have saved to pdf, Anna Silliman's recommended site "Lps to MP3s" and there's something there that suggests the necessity of at least OS 9.2? I'll go copy that paragraph.. . . . http://www.macinstruct.com/tutorials/lpmp3/index.html "A good handful of Macintosh programs play MP3s, and a smaller but growing number play Ogg files. Apple provides software that can play MP3s. The QuickTime player provides a minimalist solution. Computers running MacOS 9.0.4 or higher can also enjoy Apple's program, which is a free download. iTunes is a full-featured MP3 player, encoder, and "burner," meaning that it can create music CDs on a compatible CD-writing drive. iTunes has two weaknesses as a player. First, it was not intended to run on OS 8, although it can be patched to do so." What do you think? Any feedback for an OS 8.6 user with a CPU update to 200 and an OS 9-with- updates CD, in the mail - I have 412 MB RAM; 1.5 GB HD space free. What could be considered the minimum OS and CPU for recording, playing and uploading MP3's . . . would I guess be the simple question.
