SCSI is faster but much more expensive. A good IDE controller and
drive won't be much slower and will be quite a bit cheaper. If you
had a machine with greater bus bandwidth and processing power then
SCSI could really start showing off.

When I bought an IDE controller for my server I selected a 66 Mbps
model as the information I saw indicated that even that speed was
faster than the 7500 could handle, much less a 100Mbps.
