Yes, in more ways than one. IDE uses a ton of interrupts to store the 
data, which slows your computer down a lot during disk i/o, something 
you /really/ don't want when doing video capture. A SCSI disk, on the 
other hand, makes almost no difference in the computer's performance 
whether it is writing data or not, so in a slow computer, even a slow 
SCSI disk is better for capture than a fast IDE disk.
