From what I have experienced, having Disk Light installed on one of my powermacs for 3 years, and from speaking with others, it is harmless. It just indicates when there is activity on your hard drive. It actually can be helpful to remind you of operations going on in the background. Probably better suited for the PC crowd and their .exe files creepin' around in their systems. Now, Disk Light is often packaged as part of other Norton software, i.e. Systemworks. THAT'S where your problem is going to come from, particularly Norton Antivirus. Norton Utilities, including File Saver, can work fine after painstakingly working the bugs out. That hardly seems worth it (I've been there, done that) since there are better programs for Macs available without the hassles. Disk Light: harmless. Everything else Norton: Get rid of it.
