Andrew....

You never did say whether you hit the cuda button for a coupla/20 seconds
after installing the ram.....

Also, being an owner of a coupla 9500's myself, it sounds like you need to
check your video connections.  Not necessarily only re-seating them, but the
cable not tight or hanging so that it pulls down on the card.
