That 'should' work ok as it is a 256k chip, try again and let me know
what error messages you get.
NB even if the flash fails you should still be able to boot using the
on-board video on the Mac.
(I have also heard of people using a PC to flash the card with the Mac
bios, using the PC flash utility and the Mac bios file, but I have not
tried that myself.
