I'm not sure. I haven't gotten around to trying this on my 7600. Have you
checked the Macintosh AV FAQ at

I had a Ricoh SCSI CD-RW installed internally on my 7600 for a while. It
worked fine. I changed it to external so I could use it on other machines. I
would be inclined to follow the suggestion to get a Firewire/USB card. They
don't cost that much and provide a lot of versatility.

I'm pretty sure there never were PCI modems for Mac. There are Comm slot
modems, but they are different. If you need a 56K serial or USB modem, let
me know and maybe we can work a trade.
