Anyone have any experience with the USB2.0/Firewire Combo PCI cards? I bought the I/O Flex USB2.0/Firewire Combo PCI card for my 7300/200. Now checking their site ( www.koutech.com ) I noticed they had a claim contrary to the information on the box. The box says that both the Firewire and USB ports should be supported by the Mac OS. Now on their site it says that the Firewire on the card would not be supported in the Mac OS. However, after installing the card and installing the Apple PCI USB drivers (from the Apple website), the Firewire works great BUT it seems any USB device I try to use don't do anything. Checking System Profiler, the USB ports are registering and they say that no device is attached and when I do attach something in it, the device shows up in the profiler. I tried using my hockey puck mouse but that didn't work (though it appeared in the System Profiler under the USB port). I tried my Epson Stylus 740 and when I went to chooser, for the printer ports I only got the standard Printer Port and Modem Port options; the USB port was not showing up. This particular card says that the USB is OHCI but also EHCI.
I bought the card because I wanted to edit videos in iMovie. I really wasn't interested in the USB but I thought it would be a bonus. Does anyone have any idea why the USB devices are not working in these ports? I even tried my USB Macally game pad. When I plugged it into the USB port it lit up as usual but when I ran the Macally iShock manager, it said there was no connection and then it quit on a type 3 error. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
