If the Firewire is what you wanted it for, keep it,  but USB have to be 
OHCI-compatible for USB to work, many cheapo USB cards are not, but 
UHCI, which is a Windowze only thing.

That said, more cheapo ones are also OHCI compliant, since WinXP likes 
that better.
