I just did the same thing, put a 18G Western Digital SCA (80 pin) with
an adapter into the zip space of a 7300/200. You'll need termination.
The SCA adapter may have a terminator itself, look for a TE jumper.
My adapter doesn't so I've got my old 700MB Quantum still in there.
One way to test this, I've found the external SCSI bus to be more
tolerant of termination problems. It'll still probably screw up, but
it'll probably boot first. It's easy to switch the cable to the
external bus by swinging the drive portion of the case up, and just
moving the cable to the other connector.

I don't know the legality of this, but Drive Setup is easily modified
to support most SCSI drives-- instructions are easily found by
google. (it just involves using ResEdit to change a text string in
one of the resources, it's really easy).

I've been considering throwing my drive into an external case, because
of the heat and power considerations. To do this, I have:
(1) a case
(2) a cable
(3) a terminator
(4) a SCSI card

The external bus on the 7300 is only half the speed of the internal,
so I was planning on using an old 10MB/s card (same as internal
speed).

The external case also makes it slightly easier to use for testing
other computers.
