Is this downloading via something like Fetch? Netscape? If the web pages are loading as fast as you can expect, it's not your hardware. If it was the network card or something, you would experience the same low downloads no matter what you were using. I suspect there's something weird going on with your client. try this as a test: http://oscar.pharmacy.arizona.edu/miscjunk/test1mb.html Time how long this takes to load...it's a 1 mb text file of random character strings. On my system it takes 4.1 seconds to load. (but that's running between my desktop PC to my Mac server, through a 10/100 switch, with 100mb cards on each of them.) Then test http://oscar.pharmacy.arizona.edu/miscjunk/test1mb.bin (the same file, just renamed) as a test of downloading speed.
