Your problem doesn't sound like the problem solvable by re-installing the OS. The only time I've ever had to do that to fix a problem, I discovered later that it wasn't the problem... Did you try that download experiment I suggested yesterday? Have you tried this with the built-in ethernet on the 7500? It should work at least as well as the 7100! If it does it's your 10/100 card or drivers. If anything I suspect it's the drivers or the settings for your 10/100 card, but you still haven't said *how* you are downloading files. If, as you say, web pages load fast, but binary downloads go slow, there's something fundamentally wrong with your downloading program. Go here <http://www.dslreports.com/stest> for some speed tests.
