If the monitor works elsewhere, I would not suspect the VGA to Mac adapter. > The battery hasn't demonstrated any other symptons of failure, but is > dated 9/96, so will I get a new one. There is someone on ebay that promotes these batteries and sells them in pairs with a starting bid of around $8. He cites the fact that his batteries are recent creations circa 2002. I have purchased them and will do so again. (I have a "few" of these older Macs) > > I had no success in locating the cuda button. Any more hints of where to locate > it? Also the CD you mentioned. It took me a while to find it, but here is a link to the motherboard diagram that will explain what is where on the 7300 motherboard: http://www.macgurus.com/products/motherboards/mbppc7300.php Print it out or bookmark that page for reference. Read the description associated with the ebay auction and send a message through the "ask the seller a question" option. They can be a good source of info, but you should be able to find what you need for free on the 'net. http://www.google.com is my favorite search engine and it usually finds for me what I am looking for. > > I'll try the new battery, adapter, and cuda button (if I can locate it--do all > macs have them?) and hope that one of them help bring it to life again. I used to use it on my 6100 (as it was on the back of the machine) but getting to it on the 7300 requires opening up the box and reaching inside (beware of static electricity). > > Thanks again for your help. > Nancy Jennings > Stuart, Florida Best of luck.
