I just got an 80 G Maxtor ATA drive to use with my Turbo ATA66 card and Sonnet G3/450/1MB. (Presently these are in a PTP, but that may change. I'm going to make that the subject of another post to the list.)
I want to initialize the Maxtor for use with OS 9.1 (now), OS 10.2 (very soon) and, perhaps, some version of Linux (not as soon). Eventually, I'll be making use of a lot of the drive space for audio and video work. I'm trying to figure out how to partition the drive. In the old days, with FWB HDT, I could always change the partitioning afterwards without destroying the data on the drive, except the data on volumes I was changing. I don't have any software now that does that. (Recommendations welcome, especially for shareware and freeware.) So, until I have some better formatting software, how should I partition my drive so as to leave my options open as much as possible? - Aaron -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
