I 've got a Belkin 4-port Cable/DSL gateway router (10/100 BT) that allows my Mac and my Mom's PC to share our Road Runner service. However, every time we connect to the router, the access time for both mail and internet is vastly slower; sometimes it takes me 10--15 minutes to get messages ( with no attachments and no large emails). And browsing is worse.
Is the router the problem? Is there any way to make it faster or do I need a different router. Is it a problem on my Mac (PM 7500, 9.1, Sonnet 300 mhz G3 daughtercard, 288MB RAM).
