Thanks for the info! I have tried connecting both computer into the modem
and they work fine and fast.   I didn't different Road Runner configurations
(I called them to get the configurations when I got the router about 2
months ago).  My Mac is set to DHCP, not a static address, but do you think
I need a static address.
