Hi, it seems my microphone jack in my 7300 is dead (bought it used and never even bothered trying the microphone jack till now). I tried using a new microphone and even my old microphone from my IIsi and the sound recorder from the control panel or even Sound Studio won't even pick up a scream. I have a PCI USB card installed on my 7300 and was wondering if it was possible to use a USB microphone. Now I know Apple has stated in the past that USB Audio was NOT supported in PCI USB cards. It seems only native USB Macs supported USB audio, but has anyone out there tried using a USB microphone with a PCI USB card and gotten it to work? Does anyone have any other ideas on how to get the microphone port working on the 7300? BTW installing a sound card is not an option since all 3 PCI ports are taken and I don't think they make sound cards for Macs (or do they?).
