I was trying to add a second hard drive to my PowerMac 7500. I couldn't get it to
work right, so I removed it, put the computer back the way I found it, but the
computer wouldn't start up properly.

I have a feeling, given feedback from others, that I didn't terminate properly, and
that the 2nd hard drive was terminated but should not have been (because it was second
from the end of the SCSI ribbon, not the end).

It was suggested to me that I might have fried the SCSI bus, so I replaced the
motherboard. I'm still having the same exact problem (again, it's down to just the
original drive at this moment) as I did before I replaced it. What happens is that I
press the "on" button and I hear a noise from the drive about 3 times, then nothing.
The noise sounds like the drive is trying to spin, but I can't even say that it goes
around once. It's like it tries about 3 times to go around and just can't do it.

I realize this isn't much to go on, I would appreciate any help I can get! :)

Janice

P.S. If there's any chance I would have fried the SCSI ribbon instead of the bus, I
have a replacement ribbon and can try that tonight.
