7600, XLR8 G3-333, 768M ram, SIIG USB, XLR8 firewire, disks formatted with HDST 3.5, 1 narrow SCSI drive, 1 Firewire drive, was OS 9.1
I was having occasional disk errors so I decided to reformat my startup drive.
After reformat, tested disk and found no problems.
Tried to reinstall 9.1 and got the following message part-way through install:

- The Mac OS 9.1 installer script does not recognize this computer
- Please use original disks that came with your computer
- The installer cannot update selected drive

I've tried selecting the other two drives/ same message.
Pulled all PCI cards/ same problem.
OS 8.5 CD installed with no problem.
Tried 9.1 again after 8.6 installation and received same message.
I have completely run out of ideas of things to try.

Help... please?

Eric W.
