I just upgraded a 9600 to the above, and I'm concerned about the processor
temperature shown by the Cache Profiler. It reads 85 when first booted, and
then 166 to 123 degrees after running for about 10 minutes. Should I be
concerned? I'm getting type 1,2,3 and 10 errors, usually in Internet
Explorer and Opera, and trying to track them down, I'm considering the
possibility of excess heat as a culprit.

I would be concerned if I were you.

Some 8600/9600s have power supply problems which can result in processor
overheating.

I have a particular 9600/200 which had this flaw. Replacement of the power
supply cured the problem.

Right now I am running a 533 MHz G3 in my Beige G3 MT, which actually has
LESS cooling capacity than the 9600, although the cases are quite similar.

My 533 MHz G3 chip is presently running at 78 degrees F, and it will run all
day and all night at this temperature.
