I had read, fairly recently, that generic or refilled cartridges will not void Epson's warranties. Just read the warranty card that came with your printer, which is probably also available online; that should settle the question. I run two Epsons (a 1200 wide-format, and an 860 color stylus) off of a PCI USB 1.0 card and it has worked flawlessly with both printers on my Powermac 9500.
