If he has an XLR8 Carrier card, he can easily overclock the system bus by changing the switches on the card. One thing I've noticed is that there are "islands" of stable bus speeds above 50 MHz (at least on my 7300). 51 MHz locks up almost immediately, but 55 MHz seems to be fine.
