Finally bestowed with a G4, the temptation to get back into OSX is strong.
As the upgrade is a Sonnet G4 Cresendo I now have the option of using their
X Enabler instead of XPostFacto.
Is anyone familiar with the differences between the two, especially in terms
of installation and compatibility with other cards and peripherals?
The machine is a 9600 with a G4/350 and the aim is to run 9.1 and 10.2
together (I still use a lot of classic audio software). It will get more
memory soon and a Raedon 7000 video, which I have heard can cause some
issues with XPostFacto, especially when doing the actual install.
The information I have on Sonnet X Enabler is sketchy, other than Sonnet
assuring me it's a doodle. Does it simply allow OSX to install and run as if
it were a New World G4, or are there limitations aswell?
Anyone able to add their experiences?
Cheers,
Ben.
