how old is the booklet ?
I am not so sure about FWB but to change between standard and 
extended you can simply erase the chosen partition or disk in the 
special menu and make your hfs+ alteration there. Off course all data 
on the partition will be lost.You don't have to do that at the same 
time as you format - you can choose later what hfs.
