If $ are an issue, then you might want to consider upgrading the 7300.
There are a number of upgrade cards out there to put into them, plus all
the instructions you might need to help you get the job done. If that
fails to come true, ask us here, if we can help I'm sure we will.

A faster processor... more ram... USB & Firewire cards... an ATA
controller card so you can use less expensive IDE/ATA hard drives
instead of SCSI (which is the kind that your, and my, 7300's typically
use). If you don't have the absolute need to go to a G4 iMac or you are
weighing the $ factors, you could get along very well with an upgraded
7300. The only advantage I have seen on the new G4's is that they can
process faster which will come in handy for intense programs for
graphics and video. Digital audio can be handled with even the slower
PPC Macs. You will see an incredible improvement if you switched from a
modem to DSL or cable internet.

Disk Doctor is part of Norton Utilities. I have heard some really awful
reviews about Norton Utilities (from members on this list). I have
Norton Utilities, and have not found any problem with the programs that
would warrant steering you away from it. There are many diagnostic and
repair utilities out there, and no shortage of links to compare user
feedback concerning them.

Hope all turns out well for you!

Enjoy.
