The big question really is.. what does Teresa want to do essentially with a faster computer, and how much money does she want to spend? > On Tuesday, November 19, 2002, at 03:38 PM, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > > If you plan to eventually burn DVD's (movies) then I'd say buy the > > iMac. (9.1 is an excellent OS) She has stated that she doesn't have anyone that is technically literate to do these upgrades for her (although not overly difficult). Also there is an indication that she is willing to buy a new iMac. Not having any experience with the new iMac, I would not be able to advise anyone as to what to expect. But having a G4 and a 7300, I can say (in defense of the 7300) I like the ability to stick a USB card in for $15.00-$20.00 from ebay (delivery included). I run 2 monitors on my 7300 and I prefer the picture that I see on my studio display (17"CRT) vs my studio display (17" flat panel) with my G4. You can get a 17" studio display (CRT) for a hell of a lot less than a 17" flat panel. Granted you loose a little space both footprint and on-screen. There is a lot to consider when deciding whether to buy new or upgrade. I am pleased with my G4, but I have nothing but praise for my 7300. I don't think you can go wrong as long as you stay with Mac. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
