pardon me while I make a rude sound in sarcastic astonishment.

jeez they sure know how to twist a person to wring every last drop out
of them, don't they?

on their site tonight, i noticed they are having what they consider to
be "a special holiday sale price for year's end."
the 7-card chassis's are being reduced to 825 dollars instead of the
usual 1200 or so for year's end.
gee wow.
got to sell off that year end inventory, don't ya know???
I guess the sheer absurdity of their prices left me no choice but
hysteria. how could I take this any other way?

The prices are crazy and well beyond my means but it's the law of the marketplace at work. Given the demand they simply can't sell them for say $200 and stay in business, especially if it's the only thing they make. If there was as much demand for these as say ATX cases or PC mobos, and they could mass produce them in similar numbers, the prices would be more down to earth.
