Thanks for this link, Joe, really awesome.
In fact, thanks to everyone that has answered me, I read every post with
great care.
However, I need some help again before putting the seagate in the 7300/180...
First, the start up drive should be BUS 0 ID 0 (at least that's what I
always saw...)
Since there does not seem to have a BUS jumper on the ST15150N, default
should be 0, so we forget it?
As for ID 0, this means I do not put any jumper on J4-11, 10, 9 & 8?
As for J4-1 to 7, I put no jumper there???
Now, to Terminator! This is J01 which look like this (Courier font please):
o o o

o o o

I think that I should set it up with the following jumpers:
o o---o
|
o o o
Why? In fact because I do not know better :-)
1- the left most vertical jumper to enable drive terminator
(as I understand the start up drive must be terminated)?
2- the top horizontal jumper because this is default terminator power
from the drive...
AND I do not know why I would choose terminator power from SCSI pin 26
OR terminator to the SCSI pin 26
OR terminator power to SCSI and drive ???????
Answer to the above questions is what I am waiting for before
connecting the drive in the 7300.
However, on a related subject, if one want to explain me how the
ST15150N should be connected (J01) as an external drive with another
external drive actively terminated on the SCSI chain...
Thanks,
JCT
