Can anyone say "AppleWorks"?  It works easier than MS Office, contains the same types
of programs (word, spreadsheet, data base, drawing, painting and presentation apps)
and is included with newer versions of the OS. (Used to be called ClarrisWorks)

It is also capable of opening about any file made on other apps, allows many formats
for saving and is generally backwards compatible.
