I am currently using an APC BackUPS Pro 420 on my PM 9600-350 G3-500, and it
works fine, but I have a 3rd party piece of software to control the
shut-down... it is UPS Monitor, old but reliable, and it shuts down my Mac
in a proper fashion when the powder goes off for more than 5 minutes.

Hope this helps...

Good luck,
Pete
