John: I have a APC BackUPS 500 on my SuperMac S900. The APC auto-shutdown software refused to install on the S900 under OS9, claiming it didn't support non-native USB machines. I used TomeViewer to extract the extensions and control panels "manually", but it still wouldn't run. I found a reference on their web site that says Apple's power management extensions dont support older Legacy machines with PCI USB cards, only those with built-in USB.
