I want to test OS X on my oldworld Mac this weekend, so before I spend my
hard earned ca$h, I'm borrowing my friends copy. If it doesn't work, it's
back to OS 8, and if it does, then it's off to the shops. But, it suddenly
occurred to me that if Apple ship contemporary machines with platform specific
versions, then I'm sunk as my friend has a shiny new iMac. Can anyone enlighten
me please, before I waste too much time on it?
I was thinking it might be more of a 'system restore' type disk rather than
a true installer, as much loved by corporate PC supply companies such as
Dell and Compaq...
Any thoughts appreciated,
Mat
