A Classic reminds me of the one virus I've ever seen. On my first
Mac: Classic 2/40 way back in 1992. Since I accepted floppies from
university students, my Mac guru, Will, told me I'd better use
Disinfectant ("and besides, it's freeware"). He told me to set it up
to sniff out floppies, so I followed his rule. Glad I did, since
Disinfectant found it and displayed a warning dialog box. Of course,
I didn't write down the name of the virus (would've remembered
something major like "nVir"; I allowed Disinfectant to fix the
virus). Just as a precaution, I still sniff out floppies (and
everything I download) with Virex, updating definitions every month.
Better safe than sorry.
Forgive me if this note has been said in this thread, but the Mac is
one of the best virus protectors anyhoo. peace....

I don't do .INI, .BAT, or .SYS files. I don't assign apps to files.
I don't configure peripherals or networks before using them. I have
a computer to do all that. I have a Macintosh.
