Help....

My 7600 was acting funny when shutting down... it never shut down, but 
instead crashed during the procedure...

NOW, when trying to start it up, it goes thru the startup extentions and the 
panels, then right before desktop is to appear, I get "System Error : error 
type 41." I have never had this problem before, and need some advice on what 
to do.

I have done the PRAM reset, the "shift-key hold" and the "rebuild desktop" 
manuver... no dice! Same message...

Next step (i figure) is to startup using a CD rom, but after trashing the 
finder prefs, I have no idea what to look for or what to do...
